Pink Impressions :: 26.09.05 - 30.09.05
Lighthouse Postcard Collection :: 2002-2005

PINK IMPRESSION Exhibition began as a photographic research piece at Araluen Botanical Park in August 2005. As the photographs developed a PINK Ribbon theme was revealed. The pink ribbon is the symbol used for the international awareness and cure for breast cancer. The artist, Laurie Cochrane then invited other artists to respond to a photograph in a new and creative way that was to represent hope for all those touched by breast cancer. The first showing is at Araluen Botanical Park, September 26th. 2005. It is the hope that the exhibition will raise awareness and some funds for the cause.

LIGHTHOUSE POSTCARD COLLECTION

This project began as a personal collection of images of lighthouses. Over time it has evolved into a mail art project involving people from arts and non-art backgrounds. It has been featured at Curtin University and Fremantle Arts Centre in Western Australia and traveled to the Quest Gallery in Penetanguishene in Ontario, Canada. From ocean communities to the inland Great Lakes of Canada the project is still growing.

It will be on show once again with over a hundred images for viewing.

If you care to participate please email a postcard size artwork responding creatively to the word Lighthouse.
